Worker nodes make sense when SEO analysis jobs become too expensive or too bursty for the main API process to handle comfortably.
If the same process handles authentication, portal traffic, public APIs, and deep page analysis, spikes in audit work can start to compete with interactive usage. Workers help by moving the heaviest jobs into a separate execution path while the main API keeps serving user-facing requests predictably.
That division is especially useful when domain monitoring, manual deep scans, and free public checks all exist in the same product.
Even with workers, the main platform still needs to decide which workloads should be delegated, how retries behave, and what the user sees when a worker is unavailable.
From the user perspective, the important part is whether the scan finished and whether the result is trustworthy. Worker topology is an implementation detail unless it affects reliability, speed, or the ability to stop a job.
Introducing worker nodes only makes sense when there is a real workload or isolation reason. If the system is still small, a simpler local-background approach can be the more robust choice. Distributed execution should solve an actual operational problem, not create one.
